! Major Yarn Stash Update !

Greetings! On September 18th 2019 I decided that I needed to downsize my enormous yarn stash. I wish that I would have added up how many grams of yarn that I had at this point but I didn’t. However, if I remember correctly I had over 600 skeins of yarn at this point.

1631 days later I have 614 grams or just over 6 skeins of yarn left. I figure that it will take me close to a month to use the remainder of this yarn in these scrappy blankets.

I have a new glass jar to store my scraps of yarn in. I would like to keep that situation from getting out of control again.

To celebrate my successful yarn stash downsizing I took advantage of some leap day sales at Knit Picks and bought a bunch of yarn! I will share all of that yarn after it arrives.

Year in Review

2023 Year in Review

Another busy year is in the books. I created a lot of patterns that have been in my queue for years! I’m a little bummed out that I didn’t knit my goal of 26 pairs of socks but I exceeded my expectations in every other area! I’m excited to dive into next year’s creative plans but more on that later.

Projects:

  • 21 Pairs of Socks
  • 19 Hats
  • 15 Hand dyed skeins of yarn
  • 13 Sewing projects
  • 9 Pairs of baby socks
  • 6 Misc items
  • 4 Sweaters
  • 2 Blankets
  • 2 Shawls
  • 1 Pair of mittens

Stats:

  • In 2023 I completed 92 projects.
  • I used 8244 grams or the equivalent of 82.44 skeins of yarn, measuring 38078.28 yards or 21.6405 miles of yarn!
  • On average I used 687 grams or 3173.94 yards or 1.8 miles of yarn per month.
  • I started the year with 4205 grams of yarn and I ended the year with 1810 grams of yarn.
  • I purchased 1350 grams of yarn and I recycled 4499 grams of yarn from projects I had previously made but didn’t like.
  • I wasn’t able to knit at all for about 6 weeks from the end of May to mid July, so I’d say that I did pretty well even though my stats are down from last year.
  • I also sewed a lot more than I have in previous years!
  • I have another 2000 grams of bare yarn on the way to start out next year with!
