Hamburger Stew

2 lbs of hamburger (and/or sausage)
1 tablespoon olive oil
1 tablespoon butter
1 diced small onion
3 minced garlic cloves
4 cups of beef broth (I use bullion cubes)
1 cup tomato juice
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
2 tablespoons of tomato paste
1/2 teaspoon paprika
1 teaspoon sugar
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
6 potatoes peeled and quartered
4 carrots chopped
2 tablespoons flour

Melt butter and olive oil in Dutch oven and then brown meat – Drain meat and set aside. Cook onion and garlic until softened. Poor in broth, tomato juice, Worcestershire sauce, tomato paste, paprika, sugar, salt, and pepper. Return meat to pot. Add potatoes and carrots and cook until tender.

To thicken stew before serving remove one cup of liquid from pot and whisk in flour. Pour over soup and mix. Let simmer for additional 15 mins
